In every local music scene, there are artists who don’t just participate, they help shape the culture. For the Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County Hip Hop scene, Prol’e is one of those artists. Born Tony Thompson, Prol’e’s journey in music started early. Born in Detroit with a strong musical background in his family, stepping into music wasn’t a question, it was a calling. From elementary school talent shows to performing as a member of the Ann Arbor Boys Choir, he was already building a foundation before most artists even start taking music seriously.
But what stands out about Prol’e isn’t just talent, it’s consistency. I personally met Prol’e back in 2013, when he was one of my first customers as a stylist. Even then, you could see the focus. He wasn’t just showing up as an artist, he was already thinking like someone building something. Before the age of 18, Prol’e reached a level many artists spend years chasing being discovered by the iconic hip hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. That moment alone speaks to both his talent and his early work ethic. As he continued to grow, Prol’e developed not only as an artist but as a hustler within the local scene. He’s the type of artist who doesn’t wait for opportunities, he creates them. From promoting his own shows to consistently releasing content to Youtube early and refining his sound, he’s always stayed active and self-driven.
That same energy is exactly why he’s now a featured Family 734 artist and serves as our content creation lead, helping bring our vision to life through the Family 734 Vlog. He’s not just in front of the camera, he’s behind the scenes helping build the platform for other artists as well.

That work ethic is showing up in his current return to the scene. Prol’e recently released his latest mixtape ENDO, a project that reflects his growth, experience, and continued evolution as an artist. Alongside the project, his newest single “Oh Well” continues to build on that momentum, giving listeners a fresh look at where he’s at creatively right now.
That’s what The Family is about.
Artists like Prol’e represent the foundation of what we’re building talent, work ethic, and a real connection to the 734. His story is still being written, but one thing is clear: he’s been putting in the work long before the spotlight, and he’s continuing to build with us as a irraplaceable member of the Family 734 team.
