THE FAMILY
The Family is a curated collective of standout urban music artists from the 734 (Washtenaw County, Michigan. Each member, known as a Cousin, joins a focused development community built to elevate hip hop and R&B talent with real structure, real resources, and meaningful connections. Instead of operating like a traditional record label, The Family gives artists the opportunity to maintain ownership of their masters and still access the tools needed to grow on their own terms while benefiting from a tight-knit network that moves together.
We are bringing together the area's best DJs to form The Family DJs and record pool. Creating a platform for artist members to market their music directly to local DJs who are committed to supporting them.
A key part of our model is direct fan support. Fans can back their favorite local artists through our platform and, in return, get a one-on-one experience that feels personal and authentic. This creates a relationship where supporters feel like part of the journey, and artists feel more like family than the distant, millionaire stars signed to major labels. It brings the community closer to the music and gives rising talent the backing they need to grow.
Artist Members receive consistent help with branding, content, bookings, and radio promotion. They get performance opportunities at our monthly shows, features on our Google-verified website, and access to industry training that breaks down streaming, playlist pitching, sync, merch, and rollout strategy.
The Family is built on collaboration, visibility, and hands-on artist development. We’re strengthening the culture in the 734 and building a pipeline for artists ready to take their music to the next level together, with the fans who believe in them.

Meet The Family 734 DJs. Washtenaw County’s premier DJ crew and record pool. This group of tastemakers helps break new music and keeps the culture moving across the city and beyond. Members get early access to exclusive releases, clean and radio-ready versions, and priority submissions from Family artists. DJs are encouraged to connect, share bookings, collaborate, and submit mixes or videos for features on the Family blog and social channels.
